Thanksgiving is just around the corner. While it doesn’t usually get as much attention from kids as Christmas, it can still be a great holiday filled with lots of fun family memories.

We’ve collected dour favorite thanksgiving activities and printables for kids all in one place so you can find them and choose your favorites to do with your family this Thanksgiving!

There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.

For a fun game on Thanskgiving day, print out this adorable turkey matching game. I love the cute little animated turkeys! I love the idea of taking the entire month of November to make this thankful tree.

If you didn’t start in time, don’t worry, you can double up each day until Thanksgiving! Another countdown to Thanksgiving idea is this thankfulness chain. By the last day you’ll have a pretty decoration and lots of reasons to be thankful!

Take a small nature hike and collect some pine cones to make this adorable turkey craft.

The Traditional Thanksgiving that Connects Us

Caesar salad should not be on the menu this Thanksgiving, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

Romaine lettuce has been linked to an E. coli outbreak that has seen 32 people in 11 states fall ill. More than a dozen people have been hospitalized.

“Consumers who have any type of romaine lettuce in their home should not eat it and should throw it away, even if some of it was eaten and no one has gotten sick,” the CDC notes on its website.

Named after Crestfield Street in King’s Cross, built in 1825 by W. Forrester Bray of St. Pancras.Crestfield and each neighbouring street features its own rather lovely fanlights above the doorways of the handsome Georgian facades.

There have also been cases in Canada—15 in Quebec and 3 in Ontario. The Public Health Agency of Canada says people in those provinces should avoid eating romaine lettuce and salad mixes containing romaine lettuce until more is known about the outbreak.

Officials on both sides of the border agree this outbreak is linked to a previous outbreak in 2017.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, genetic analysis of the E. coli strain indicates this outbreak isn’t linked to the one that occurred back in the spring of 2018 but is related to an epidemic in the fall of 2017.

“Genetic analysis of the E. coli O157:H7 strains tested to date from patients in this current outbreak are similar to strains of E. coli O157:H7 associated with a previous outbreak from the Fall of 2017 that also affected consumers in both Canada and the U.S.” the FDA notes on its website.

Preparations for Another Christmas Celebration Eve

Have you ever wondered if you could make your own Christmas Wrapping paper? It is a super fun craft idea, and it makes the presents under the tree look so pretty and festive!

I wish I could claim this idea as my own, but this is actually something my sister did last year. I thought it was absolutely adorable, so of course, I wanted to share it with all of you (with her permission)!

Children are likely to live up to what you believe of them.

Spread the rolls outside in the driveway or in your garage. Anywhere with lots of space where you can get all messy! Then, let the kids go wild walking on the paper with painted feet and spreading their handprints around!

The kids have so much fun doing it and the gifts end up look really beautiful and crafty! You can add some pretty twine or even the snazzy photo gift tags as shown in the picture below (she got those from shuttefly.com)

I’m posting this idea early, so hopefully if we all plan ahead we can have time to do pretty wrapping paper like this this year! I know my kids would love to give it a try, and you know all the grandparents would enjoy the extra “gift” of custom wrapping paper!

Reasons Why You Won’t Ever Say the Same Things Again

With Christmas behind us and a new year upon us, we are excited to have a little break all to ourselves. I love having these boys with me and spending some much needed time together.

However, if you are like us, you start to find yourself going a bit stir crazy at times. Yes, the new Christmas toys are cool, but they are only cool for a limited time (unless you are Graham’s nook). I love that that boy loves to read!

You have to love your children unselfishly. That is hard. But it is the only way.

Davis is my whimsical three-year-old who loves to play, play, and play some more! He loves to use his imagination and create games. He also loves finger puppets. So, I decided I would make him a few of his own woodland animals. I free handed these so no judging on the artistry!

I think they have a unique personality all their own if I do say so myself. Not to mention, their backsides even have personality. I left them black and white so that you and your kids could color them together and make them your own

Just print off the pdf, color, cut and tape around the sides. These are perfect for a rainy or snowy day. Grab a mug of hot chocolate, prop your feet by the fire and watch their little imaginations run wild.

I think next time I should create a printable woodland scene. Next time maybe. My time is precious few with these babies before I head back to work. I’m soaking up the goodness.
